The Princess Proclaims.....

"My mind went on vacation but now it's back!"

"Mom, when I grow up, I'm going to be a Princess Ballerina Fairy Mermaid Astronaut."

"Mom, I'm really sad right now. I wanted to marry Prince Eric. I want to have a real baby. I want to fall in love."

"Mom, I love learning about God and singing about God. Everyone needs to learn about God!"

"Mom, when we say I Love You to each other, it makes my heart sing!"

"Dad, I have to tell you something. Did you know when you eat, your ears wiggle?"

Oh, Brother!!

And we mean that in a good way.  E calls her big brother, "Brother."   Brother left Thursday morning and E misses him very much.  She had a good time when he was here, but the visit was too short.  She's already asking when is "brother" coming back.  Hopefully, sometime yet again this year.

Here's a short video of E and her big brother playing Tag:

This picture was taken the last night my son was here. Love this picture!

With "brother" gone, it's back to preschool. Nice thing about homeschooling, you can take a break whenever you need to. But, our guests are gone, so back to work!

Surprise!

The Princess has an older brother that lives out-of-state, and this week he is here visiting. It was a big surprise for E.  I had to keep it a secret all last week until Brother arrived on Sunday. She was sooooooo surprised, and happy, to see him. It has been over two years since the last time he came down to visit us.

Brother has no idea how much happiness he has brought to his little sister...and to me. E keeps saying over and over, "I love Brother. I'm so happy he came down to visit us."

Me too, Princess.  Me too.

Hats

I'm not a hat lover or hat wearer.  I wore a baseball hat when I played softball because we had to, but other than that, I prefer no hat.

E, on the other hand, has always liked wearing hats.  I never had a problem getting her to keep her hat on, nor sunglasses for that matter.

While The Grandmas were here, we did a lot of shopping...I mean a lot!  At one store, E tried on hats with Grandma Marilyn.  This girl looks good in anything, I tell you.

On another shopping trip, E's daddy was buying a hat to wear when he works outside at his part-time job.  E started trying on hats and decided on this one.

Over the years, I've taken a few cute pictures of her in hats, so since we I am talking about hats, I'm going to share some of my favs!

Not technically a hat, I know, but it makes me laugh!

Again, not technically a hat but like I said, she looks good in anything!

Back to School

We've had quite an extended break from preschool.  We started back up over the weekend, reviewing more of the letters we had covered last fall, and tomorrow, we will pick up where we left off.  I have slowly been accumulating some more preschool/kindergarten homeschooling resources to use for the rest of this year and for the fall when I homeschool E for kindergarten, including a few collections of children's literature, and some musical instruments (kazoo, triangle, maracas, etc.).  My mother sent her a United States floor puzzle and my MIL is sending an American flag.  We picked up some posters on telling time and simple arithmetic at the Dollar Tree.  They have lots of school stuff there!!

Saturday we reviewed the letter I and today, the letter J. We really had fun with J because we got to sing and talk a lot about Jesus.  E  LOVES Jesus and loves to sing about him and his great love for all of us.  We read two of her books about Jesus and then we talked a bit about Agape love and how Jesus loves us no matter what...that there is nothing that we could do that would stop Him from loving us and that we are to love other in the same way.  Tomorrow, the letter K!

Grandma Invasion

The Princess is so excited because tomorrow not one, but TWO of her grandmothers will be arriving for a visit. One grandmother we haven't seen since we moved back to Florida from Seattle three years ago and the other we haven't seen in two years. E has been counting how many more "sleeps" until they get here. So cute!! Lots of pictures to follow over the next week or so.
