The Princess Proclaims.....

"My mind went on vacation but now it's back!"

"Mom, when I grow up, I'm going to be a Princess Ballerina Fairy Mermaid Astronaut."

"Mom, I'm really sad right now. I wanted to marry Prince Eric. I want to have a real baby. I want to fall in love."

"Mom, I love learning about God and singing about God. Everyone needs to learn about God!"

"Mom, when we say I Love You to each other, it makes my heart sing!"

"Dad, I have to tell you something. Did you know when you eat, your ears wiggle?"

Wanna Party?

The Princess LOVES to throw parties. Just about every day she has a party for someone: for her dad, for me, for her dolls, or for her stuffed animals. She loves to give lots of presents (toys from her room), and has food and cake and ice cream. Sometimes, she even dresses up in her princess gowns...today was one of those days:

Today, E had blankets on the floor with our food all layed out. She had presents in baskets covered with blankets (wrapping) and we had a good ole time opening gifts and playing with them. I can't think of a better way to spend my day. :o)

Barbie Time.......

I used to play with Barbies when I was a kid. Now my daughter is getting into them. One of her favorites (due in part because her grandma sends her Barbie books) is the Barbie Thumbelina. We were at the grocery store today, no where near the toy isles, and there, sitting all alone on a top shelf, was Thumbelina. Poor, lonely Thumbelina. Just crying out for someone to take her home. Eagle Eye E spotted her and decided SHE was just the kid to rescue Thumbelina. So, Thumbelina is now at home with us, safe and sound, and has not left the hands/arms of my daughter for most of the afternoon. Thumbelina has had snack and dinner with E and is now snuggled up on the couch watching Sprout's Goodnight Show. Lucky girl....which one am I talking about? You decide.

You Don't Know Anything Mom!

What mom hasn't heard those words before? E told me today "Mom, you don't know anything and I know a lot! I know how to say lots of things and I know how to jump and hop and all kinds of stuff and you don't!" :o) She didn't say it in a mean way but more of a matter-of-fact way. I'll let her think she is right. Kids are supposed to realize in their 20's that maybe mom and dad really do know what they are talking about. I'm still waiting for my oldest (he is 23 years old) to reveal to me that has been so enlightened. I'm not holding my breath though.

I'm A Big Girl Now

The Princess LOVES the water. Up until now, she has refused all attempts to learn to swim, even with water wings on (you know, those little inflatable bands that go around the kids' arms) instead using her orange floaty to float around the pool. I finally put my foot down and told her that if she wanted to continue to play in the pool, she must TRY every day to swim, starting with floating. She was so scared and could not relax even with my arms holding her from below. So, we purchased a swim vest and the difference was like night and day with her. She had a small kick board from last year that she wanted to try out so she was practicing her swimming holding onto the kick board. I convinced her to put the water wings on and that was the push she really needed. She is all over the pool now, using her legs AND arms to "swim" all over. She told me today "I can swim better than daddy." Not quite Princess, not quite....but soon. :o)
